Using InPlaceText

These terms apply when you use InPlaceText at inplacetext.com. By using the site you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What the service does

InPlaceText is an online tool that uses AI to replace text in images. You upload an image, tell it which text to change and what to change it to, and the service returns an edited image. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

Free edits, credits and accounts

Each edit that returns a result uses 1 credit. New visitors get 2 free edits, and signing in for the first time adds 2 more. If an edit fails and no usable image comes back, the credit or free edit it used is returned automatically. Free edits have no cash value, cannot be refunded or transferred, and we may change how many we offer or how they are counted at any time.

Signing in is optional for free edits, but you need an account to buy credits. Keep your sign-in details secure and use the account only for yourself. We may limit or suspend access when we see misuse.

Buying credits

• Edit packs are one-time payments in US dollars. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Current packs and prices are listed on our Pricing page; the price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card details. Stripe emails you a receipt and an invoice you can download.
• Credits are added to your account once the payment is confirmed. Purchased credits don't expire.
• Credits are used in this order: free edits, then sign-in edits, then purchased credits, starting with your oldest pack.
• Credits have no cash value. They can't be exchanged for money, transferred to another account, or resold.

Promotion codes

From time to time we may offer promotion codes. A code can only be used at checkout, one code per purchase, and may come with conditions such as an expiry date or a usage limit. Codes have no cash value. We may change or end a promotion at any time, and we may cancel credits obtained by misusing a code.

Refunds

• You can get a full refund of an edit pack within 14 days of purchase, as long as none of the credits from that pack have been used. Email [email protected] from your account email and tell us the purchase date.
• Refunds go back to your original payment method, for the amount you actually paid. When a pack is refunded, its credits are removed from your account.
• Once any credit from a pack has been used, that pack can't be refunded.
• If an edit fails, its credit comes back automatically, so you don't need to ask. If you're unhappy with a result, email us and we'll take a look.
• Nothing in these terms limits any refund rights you have under the law where you live.

Cancelling and closing your account

Edit packs are one-time purchases, so there is nothing to cancel. You can stop using InPlaceText at any time. To close your account and have your account data deleted, email [email protected] from your account email. Remaining credits are lost when the account is closed; if an unused pack still meets the refund conditions, ask for the refund first.

Payment disputes

If something is wrong with a charge, please email us first. We can usually sort it out faster than your bank. If you dispute a payment with your bank or card issuer, we may remove the unused credits from that purchase while the dispute is open, and we may limit purchases on the account if we see payment fraud.

Your images

• You must have the right to upload and edit every image you submit.
• You keep your rights in your images. You allow us to process them only as needed to make the edit you request, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• We may decline to process an image, for example when the AI service refuses it.

Content rules

You may not use InPlaceText to create or share:

• forged or altered documents, IDs, receipts, bank or payment records, certificates or other official papers;
• edits meant to deceive people, such as impersonating someone, faking evidence, or misleading people about what really happened;
• content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers children, sexually explicit content, hate speech or graphic violence;
• content that harasses someone, or that violates someone's privacy, copyright or other rights;
• anything else that is illegal where you live.

If we find a breach of these rules, we may suspend the account, remove credits obtained through abuse, and report illegal content to the relevant authorities.

AI results can be wrong

Results are generated by AI and may be inaccurate. An edit might misspell text, change areas you wanted to keep, or not match the original style exactly. Check every result before you use or share it. You are responsible for how you use the results.

Acceptable use

Please don't abuse or overload the service; use scripts, bots or other automation, or create extra accounts, to get around free-edit limits; try to break into the service or its systems; or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

Availability and changes to the service

We may update, pause, limit or stop any part of InPlaceText at any time. We don't promise that the service will always be available, error-free or fast.

Third-party services

InPlaceText relies on third-party providers, for example for hosting, AI image processing, sign-in and payments. We are not responsible for services we do not control.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

InPlaceText is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it. Some places don't allow certain limits, so these apply only as far as the law permits.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using InPlaceText after an update, you accept the updated terms.
